Timeline for 2016 Graduates

I opened my email a few days ago from Ethan’s school. It was a modified date for the last day of school.

THE LAST DAY OF SCHOOL
THE LAST DAY OF SCHOOL
THE LAST DAY OF SCHOOL
THE LAST DAY OF SCHOOL
THE LAST DAY OF SCHOOL
THE LAST DAY OF SCHOOL
THE LAST DAY OF SCHOOL
THE LAST DAY OF SCHOOL

Do you want me stop doing that? I want everyone to stop doing that! I know that denial and avoidance are very ineffective techniques to employ at this time. Sure, it might feel good to not think about it, but I am still rational enough to know that THE LAST DAY OF SCHOOL is, in fact, quickly approaching.

Maybe it will be less painful if we are all in this together.

Here is a link to things that you HAVE to do.

If you are behind on this list, get moving. It’s totally printable, if you like the satisfaction of crossing and checking things off. If you’ve already started down this list, keep moving. Just do the next thing until all the things are done. See simple. Not really, but let’s utilize our positive thinking, ok?

If you have trouble getting your adult child their VERY IMPORTANT Medicaid eligibility, please see this link. Scroll halfway down the page to see where the question “What do I do if Medicaid eligibility is denied or terminated?” is addressed. There is a form to complete and help to be accessed. At the very bottom of the page is information on how to contact the Medicaid Helpdesk.

This is a great list. If you do everything on this list, you should be able to begin to fleshing out what your child’s adult life might look like.

Oooooh! I just realized that I dislike “adult life” even more than ‘THE LAST DAY OF SCHOOL’.

  1. You have always amazed me. I am spent and watching you continue with the same enthusiasm and energy is inspiring. I am counting on you or keep us updated on Ethan’s progress. Won’t pretend that I don’t want to cry right now thinking he won’t be on the bus next yer

    1. You are always such an encouragement to me. I hope you will visit here often and can watch how things progress.
